FOLLOWING CHRIST

You don’t have to be a sport enthusiast to be a ‘fan’ –not even in Kentucky. There are plenty of people who call themselves ‘fans’ of certain celebrities, bands, products, stores, and the list goes on and on. But there’s a big difference between being a ‘fan’ and being a ‘follower’. A ‘fan’ is enthusiastic, cheers when things are going great; a ‘follower’ doesn’t waver even when things don’t look favorable.

A ‘fan’ knows about someone; a ‘follower’ knows someone. And the biggest difference is that a ‘fan’ loves the fun, but a ‘follower’ is willing to work.

At Glenview we’re committed to turning ‘fans’ of Jesus Christ to ‘followers’. Our vision is to see people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, economic status, and any other persuasion, come to know about Jesus. We want to introduce them to Him; make a connection with Him; and then Follow Him through 3 KEY STEPS:

WORSHIP

GROWTH

SERVICE

We don’t want people to know about Jesus. We want people to know Him.

Here at Glenview Christian Church, we believe that giving is an act of worship, and that people are not giving to a church, a building, or a ministry program – but to the Lord Jesus Himself.

In order to ensure financial integrity, we have distinct funds within Glenview Christian  Church:

  1. The General Operating Fund. The General Operating Fund is used for all ministry operational expenses, including salaries, general administration, utilities, ministry programming, etc. Unless otherwise specified, all donations are credited to this fund.
  2. Missions. We give 13.5% of all offerings to fund select local and global missions.
  3. Other Special Funds. GCC has a few special funds, such as Benevolence that provide for special ministry needs.

Donations may be made by the following methods:

  • Check.
  • Cash.
  • Online.

STEP TWO…GROWTH

GROWTH

Now there are ‘fans’ and then there are ‘fans’. A ‘real fan’ not only gets into the ‘game/event’, but has a pretty good knowledge of who, what, where, when. You might say at this point ‘fans’ are becoming ‘followers’. They have a wealth of past, present, & even future information, but they want to know more. At Glenview we want people to ‘grow’ in their relationship with Jesus. Our vision is for people to get together to study the Bible and that may be on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, or any other time in the week. But we also want to encourage people to spend some one-on-one time with God throughout the week. We want people to step into the technological world of information to where ‘growth’ in being a ‘Follower’ of Jesus is just a ‘click’ away. We would challenge you to take Step 2-Growth.
