As of April 22 the Youth of Glenview Christian Church have adopted a new theme and vision.
We are calling it
It comes from Luke 6:48 which says, “He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and
laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.” In the preceding verse Jesus say let me describe what it is like when someone puts my words into practice.
Students face so many storms. They come in the forms of pressure to succeed in sports and academics, trying to feel accepted, dealing with relationships, dealing with tension at home, standing strong against sin, constant change, and so many more. Teens often feel overwhelmed by these storms leading them into all kinds of dangerous behavior. Often they collapse under the weight of all this pressure.
We want to give students hope.
With
we will give students a strong foundation in God’s word while building deep relationships with Christ and with each other. We want to give them something to cling to when all else fails. We believe this is the only way they will weather the storm.
